Michigan Pilots Free-Lunch Program During Summer for School-Age Children
Michigan is piloting a nationwide Free lunch program that provides grocery money during the summer for parents whose children qualify for Free and reduced lunches during the school year. Grand Rapids Public Schools is testing a debit card system, similar to WIC, good for $60 worth of preapproved groceries.
